New Talents at the Academy of Lyrical Art of Osimo

The newcomers of the Academy of Lyric Art of Osimo come from Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Italy, Ukraine, Japan and China, and on Tuesday 12 November they took the admission exam to the Academic Year 2019/2020. The commission – composed of Vincenzo De Vivo, Artistic Director of the Academy, professors William Matteuzzi, Alessandro Benigni, Alla Simoni and Didactic Director Venanzio Sorbini – admitted eight sopranos, two mezzosopranos and five baritones. The international prestige that the institution has enjoyed for forty years ensures, in fact, a remarkable turnover of talents who wish to perfect themselves in the lyric repertoire to face the debut on the stage. A full program of concerts and musical events, from December to June, awaits the young talents admitted to the last audition, alongside the other students who continue their studies at the prestigious Osimana Academy. The young singers were also appreciated by the Regional Councilor for the Performing Arts Moreno Pieroni, visiting the headquarters of the historic Osiman institution, who had the opportunity to attend the work done by the teachers and students during the specialization courses and to discuss with the President Piero Alessandrini the strategies for the development of the Academy’s activity with an even wider and more significant presence in the regional territory of the productions entrusted to young vocal soloists
