The Osimo Academy of Lyric Art did not stop during the lockdown period. The directives of the government imposed the suspension of the normal didactic and concert activity by the historic Osiman institution, however the lessons continued at a distance.
Thanks to modern technology, the students of the Academy are engaged in reading the booklets of some works, accompanied in this activity by the artistic director Vincenzo De Vivo: first in the list are those of Da Ponte for Mozart, Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni and Cosi Fan All. It continues with Don Pasquale and Lucia di Lammermoor, both set to music by Donizetti. Particular attention was paid to the texts in Italian put to music by Beethoven (often on verses by Pietro Metastasio). A complex activity that has seen students learn the correct diction and understanding of texts, coming from ten countries on three continents.
Pending therefore to be able to resume normal teaching, the Academy organized itself with various remote activities, which also saw the participation of some former students, very interested in this training proposal, side by side with the new levers of the historic Osimo institution. .
The online courses will also continue for the month of June.
