Go back the opera at the Teatro La Nuova Fenice in Osimo, Saturday, May 21, at 21.15, with Suor Angelica, the masterpiece by Giacomo Puccini. It ‘s an opportunity to hear the soloists of the Accademia d’Arte Lirica, under Alessandro Benigni guide musical director at the piano, in the staging of Matteo Mazzoni, who will rebuild the cloistered atmosphere in which it moves the story told by librettist Gioacchino Forzano. The opera, almost entirely female, will reveal the precious vocal of the young artists of the Academy, that will give life to the characters of the moving story: the story of a young aristocratic forcibly closed in a monastery to serve a loving sin. After seven years in the convent, where the pace is slow without jerks, Suor Angelica is visited her aunt Princess. In the interview it turns out that the young monk had to break away forcibly from her child, the fruit of the forbidden relationship. To request for information by the religious, the elderly aunt, with absolute detachment, announces the death of child. Suor Angelica, in total desperation, decides to end his life by drinking a fatal infusion of herbs, in the illusion of being able to connect with his creature. Realizing he had made with the suicide a mortal sin, Suor Angelica asks the Virgin a sign of grace. And the miracle happens: the Madonna appears and, with maternal gesture, pushes the baby in her arms outstretched the dying. In overwhelming final sing the children’s choir of the School “C. G. The Puccini opera is missing from Osimo by 1988, when it was set up on the cathedral square.
