The project “Beyond the listening”

“BEYOND LISTENING”: EXPERIENCES OF DIFFERENT SKILLS IN THE MUSIC SIZE is a project promoted by the OSIMO LYRIC ART ACADEMY, GOLD WIRE ALLOY and STATE TACTILE MUSEUM HOMERUS – in collaboration with CONSERVATORY “G. G. ROSSINI “in Pesaro and ASSOCIAZIONE RAGAZZI OLTRE in Ancona – with the contribution of CARIVERONA and with the patronage of the Regional Guarantor of Human Rights, who wants to emphasize the relationship between MUSICAL CULTURE and HANDICAP.

The initiative aims to put in contact with disabled artists not only the singers of the Academy but also local instrumentalists, students of schools of all levels and degrees and the usual audience in the concert halls. He also wishes to promote new experiences of musical performance and listening in particular sensorial dimensions: concerts in the dark together with the blind, musical encounters with the deaf and deafblind, ensemble music also with disabled or disabled artists. The operational phase of the project concerns a series of musical encounters in the Auditorium of the Lega del Filo d’oro, in Osimo: after the appointment on February 5, they are scheduled for March 18 at 5.30 pm and April 22, at same time. The meetings are preceded by workshops in which the young artists of the Academy interact with guests of the League, of different ages, from preschool to adult, for rhythmic-musical experiences. At the same time, the writing workshops started at the League started, to involve the guests of the structure, the students of composition and musical teaching of the Pesaro Conservatory, the young artists of the Academy in the elaboration of texts and musical themes.

The result will be a series of new music that will be presented in Osimo, at the La Fenice Theater, on May 17th in a show: “MUSIC BEYOND THE LISTENING”, which will involve artists, instrumental groups and a chorus of school pupils of the territory, in addition to the soloists of the Academy. A parallel initiative in primary and secondary schools aims to arouse interest in pupils for the exchange and relationship with handicapped peers, through the experience of the different listening possibilities and collective musical practice: choral activities and meetings. The emblematic figures of three great musicians who knew the handicap condition during their life will be a reference: Bach – who went blind and had to stop his compositional activity – Händel – who managed to overcome the consequences of a stroke that blocked him four fingers of the right hand – and Beethoven, to whom deafness did not prevent him from conceiving the last symphonies, quartets and chamber music of maturity. In concerts at the headquarters of the Museo Tattile Omero in Ancona, at the Mole Vanvitelliana, on March 28 and April 24, instrumentalists participating in the Chamber Music Laboratory will play with the Academy soloists, which will also include young artists of different abilities. Musical meetings are also scheduled in the district houses of Montacuto and Barcaglione, as well as in some health facilities in the area: Santo Stefano di Porto Potenza Picena rehabilitation institute (April 1), Centro Bignamini – D. Carlo Gnocchi di Falconara Foundation (April 29) .
