Da Dante a Leopardi

The concert “From Dante to Leopardi”, in Cingoli, Friday 6 December at 5.30 pm at the Municipal Library “Ascariana” will be a fascinating journey through music and poetry. The soloists of the Accademia d’Arte Lirica di Osimo, the pianist Valeria Picardi and the five soloists – the sopranos Anastasiia Demchenko, Yuliya Poleshchuk, the mezzo-soprano Magdalina Chichiashvili, the tenor Aziko Pilia, and baritone Sultan Bakytzhan, from Russia, Georgia and Kazakhstan – will be measured by texts of great linguistic and interpretative difficulty and will offer a program with some famous pages of Italian literature set to music by different composers.

Dante, Petrarca, Boccaccio, D’Annunzio, Pascoli and Leopardi are the poets. The musicians range from the Tuscan Ciro Pinsuti – operating in the mid-nineteenth century – to a host of Italian twentieth-century authors, including Castelnuovo Tedesco, Pizzetti, Respighi, Tosti, Zandonai, up to the contemporaries Federico Gon and Marco Taralli (the latter presents a piece in absolute premiere, All’Italia di Leopardi). The Infinito, the most famous lyric of the poet of Recanati – of which the Ascarian Library preserves one of the autograph manuscripts – will be heard in two versions, set to music by Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco in 1921 and by Federico Gon in 2018.

The concert is part of the events of the Patrimonio in scena project – For the dissemination of the live show in the Cultural Institutes of the Marche, promoted by the Consorzio Marche Spettacolo: fruit of the deepening of the collaboration between the live show and the other cultural institutions of the region, starting from museums, archives and libraries, the initiative includes twelve events open to the public, in twelve cultural Institutes spread throughout the region, from May to December 2019.
